heavenly hydrangeas

I love the hydrangeas in the white vase against the black picture frame as well as the wood desk. I found this image at marley & lockyer.

candle light

I heart the silver candle holders and its simplistic nature.

basket weaving

This is a simple picture and i like it for that reason. I am really digging the baskets. I have to fine some. I bet they would look good above kitchen cabinets or under a table in a foyer.

humble abode

This image is peaceful and tranquil. I love the washed wall and the very light blue cabinet.

daring walls

At first, I thought the dark teal wall moldings with the black print wallpaper was a little strange. But after staring at it for a few minutes I started to realize why it was striking, the red ceiling that peaks through the opening to the bedroom and the picture frames on the wall add a dramatic effect. The wall and room may be dark when seen with the natural eye, but when looking just at the image, the artistic direction is striking.

ingenious storage

I have seen this image at a number of interior/home design blogs. I believe that the crates were purchased in England. I think that the crates are a great storage idea and I would quickly purchase them if i ever came across them. I am not quite sure where i found the post, but i am sure it will turn up again some where.

upper class posh

Okay, i know that there is alot happening in this room, but you must admit that the room is amazing. Just look at the rug, the wall, the chair the gigantic mirror that is overlooking the room. To some the red and white stripped chair may appear odd in this room of dark greens and blue, but I like that it is different and stands out. i grabbed this image from {this is glamorous}

checker board heaven

I love, love this kitchen from the chandelier to the black blinds. But, what I especially love is the checker board tiles. I plan on having these in my new apartment. I am not a fan of white cabinetry or walls, but the cabinets in this kitchen seems to mesh well with the tiles and other items in the room. I came across this photo at brown button.

hearty meal

I love the dinner ware and tea pot in this picture. The white color and white/blue prints on the dinner ware are absolutely beautiful. I wonder if they are from crate and barrel. I also heart what appears to be fresh baked bread. It seems yummy.

vintage armoir

This vintage white armoir is simply beautiful. I love that you can look into the armoir and see the hanging scarves and folded clothes. This image was taken from elle decoration, UK edition, October 2007 by {this is glamorous}

pretty in pink

I just love, love, love this chair. I found the picture at {this is glamorous} It is my number one favorite chair, well next to the dark green leather chair that I own, which is currently being gnawed by my cat. I love the pink and white color, the indentations in the fabric and the light blue walls that gives the picture a serene feel. If anyone knows where I can get this fabric from please, please let me know!

amazing blues

I heart this table setting, it is theatrical and powerful. Obviously, I am trying to use words other than "I love" and "dramatic". I heart the bushel of flowers, the vase in which it is held, the candals and drink ware. Overall, it is an impressive arrangement. I found this photo on {this is glamorous}

unspoken royalty

The light teal walls, gold picture frames and ceiling art gives this entryway an aristocratic feel. I also love the placement of shoes and wellies under the table as well as the floral arrangement. This image was grabbed from {this is glamorous}

floral elegance

These rich mustard leaves and green kale placed in a dark vase creates a dramatic effect on the ivory vintage mantel place. This image was grabbed from domino magazine and was featured in a 2006 issue.

french cottage bedroom

I adore the bedding and bed frame in this picture. I also love the exposed low columns and the lamp near the head of the bed. I pulled this image from craving anthropologie.

rustic croc sink

I love the rustic look of this sink and the way the dish cloth is casually placed on the edge of the sink. I also like what appears to be an crocodile pattern on the sink and the placement of the plants and flowers. I pulled this image from small space style

floral wall

I do not know if this shelf arrangement is for short people (joking), but it is a great use of space. I love the hanging kitchen utensils and wicker baskets. I also like the wallpaper, which I would never think to use in my home. I believe that I got this image from small space style

magnificent arrangement

These are fabulously displayed exquisite plates. I love the flowers that are newly cut and laying on the counter. Now we all know that most of us do not leave flowers on the kitchen counter, but we must remember that this is an photo arrangement. As the description on the photo suggests, wall displays can be a great way to show beautiful plate patterns.

zebra prints 2

My main reason for including this clipping is not because of the living room arrangement, it is more so for the couch and pillow pattern. I love the ziz zag black/white pattern. It creates a dramatic effect especially against the wood floor.

by candlelight

I love this deep blue green wall with the embedded moldings. Everyone who know me knows that I am also obsessed with moldings (okay I know I am obsessed with many things), but molding in my opinion are what sells apartments not kitchens or bathrooms although they also play a big role. Anyway, I also love the white candles that illuminate the wall. Not quite sure about the white lamp, a little odd don't you think.

"mad men" mania

This couch reminds me of the AMC show "Mad Men". Maybe the couch is vintage 1940s or 50s. My boyfriend seems to think that it is art deco, but I don't know if to believe him, he is often wrong about many things like directions for instance. Anyway, I like the pale blue color of he couch and its style. I am really not feeling the butterfly lamp although some may disagree with me.

rug obsession

If you have been reading my posts, then you will know that I am obsessed with rugs. I mainly love Persian rugs, but other types of rugs have peaked my interests as well. I also like living spaces than have a touch of country living or feel. I believe that the dining room table, which sort of looks like a picnic table reminds me of the country side. I also love the books displayed in the back ground and the hanging ornaments.

resting place

Okay everyone that knows me knows that I love animals specifically cats, but just look at the dog will you, he/she is so adorable. Well to back to the purpose of the post, I love the dark wood shelving and wicker baskets nestled away in the shelving areas. I also like the bench with the cushion seating as well as the tattered wood walls.

hanging display

I swooned when I saw this image. The way the mugs are arranged and hanging as well as the different color combination and styles makes me drool. Again seeing this display of mugs makes me want to create the same feel in my kitchen or living space. Hopefully, i can be this creative when decorating my hopefully soon to be humble abode.

tranquil living space

The first thing that caught my eye in this living room was the rug. I know that I have expensive taste especially when it comes to rugs, but honestly how can you not want to purchase that rug. I also love the color range in the living room as well as the wooden desk and wooden side table. For some reason I feel like the living room belongs or could belong to an English professor; a Sherlock Holmes admirer.

golden green

I don't have much to say about the wallpaper except phenomenal. I know I sound a little bit like Oprah, but what else can I say. The white couch is a nice touch as well as the strategically placed picture frames. Not really feeling the lamp which reminds me of the leg lamp in "A Christmas Story". This image was taken from elle decoration, UK edition, October 2007 by {this is glamorous}

country styling

This arrangement, which was displayed on the rlhomepolo.com website sometime ago, is the feel that I want for my dining area. I specifically like the stripe seat covers, which gives the room a country feel. In addition, the white tattered, distressed walls and picture frames are a nice touch to the over all aesthetic.

zebra print

I so desperately want this couch. I adore the stripe print. I love the dramatic yet subtle effect that it creates. It would go perfectly with my green leather chair (will post a picture at a later date) that is currently being destroyed by my cat. This couch caught my eye at brown button.

rustic setting

This kitchen is amazing to look as at. I am obsessed with white dishes especially from crate and barrel. I also love the country table, rustic chair and cabinet and the chandelier. I pulled this post from Marley & Lockyer.

clothing rack

I just love this standing clothes hanger/rack. I am searching for one right now and will definitely buy it when I find it. If anyone knows were these are sold. Let me know. I pulled this post from Marley & Lockyer.

angelic

I love this living room. It is serene and tranquil. The yellow walls, pink stripe chairs and brown couch all mess together well. I can see myself laying on the brown chair reading a Zadie Smith novel as I sip mint green tea. I love the zebra print rug!! Just amazing!

dramatic statement

This is one of my all time favorite bathrooms. The black wall is inspirational and gives the room a dramatic effect. The idea of painting one of my bathroom walls black would never have crossed my mind. I also love the bathtub. I would love to have an identical one in my bathroom.

stripe print

When I eventually move, I would love to own a chair, couch or sofa of this fabric and style. Although I prefer vintage pieces, something about this chair caught my eyes. Maybe it was the legs and fabric indentations.

vibrant reds

I love the use of color in this room. The red wall just pops and it is the first thing that catches my eyes. To some it may seem too matchy-matchy, but I adore everything about it. My favorite pieces are the rug, the blind and the side table.

inky blues

I just found this colorway on {this is glamorous}, really nice blue range. They always have good stuff.

my first post

No more procrastination, the day is here. With a little help from D, I am up and running with the new blog. This will be a place for me to share the design clippings, photos and articles that I have been tracking on the web. If you know me, you know that I have about a thousand blogs that I follow, and many of them are focused on interior design, fashion and art. This is my chance to share some of them with you.

Also, when we move into the new place (IF WE EVER MOVE!!) I will chronicle the transformations that take place, as we convert the raw apartment into something that matches my vision.
